A Visit To This Unassuming Mississippi Gas Station Will Take You Straight To Sandwich Heaven

Anyone who’s lived in Mississippi long enough knows that gas station eateries should not be discounted, as they often serve up some incredible grub. And anyone who’s lived on the Gulf Coast long enough knows that Fayard’s, a gas station-based restaurant, serves up what are arguably the best po’ boys in Mississippi. Take a look:

A Gulf Coast legend, Fayard’s Po' Boys has been satisfying visitors and passersby for more than 50 years.

Today there are several locations on the Gulf Coast, including in Biloxi and Ocean Springs.

And though each location is separated by miles, they all have a couple of things in common – one of which is a gas station locale. Yep, they’re all housed inside unassuming gas stations.

The ability to whip up incredible po’ boys is another similarity shared by all the Fayard’s locations.

More specifically, Fayard’s is known for its signature “dressed and pressed” po’ boys.

As the name implies, the tasty concoctions are dressed with standard po’ boy toppings and then pressed, or, rather, cooked in a press, resulting in perfectly toasted bread.

And, of course, Fayard’s menu includes all the quintessential po’ boys, such as shrimp, oysters, roast beef, and soft shell crab.
