A hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Michigan sometimes surprises us with a very talented staff crafting delicious eats and serving heartwarming dishes. The tiny restaurant of Rosy’s Diner is a fan favorite and a local institution in the charming Lake Michigan town of Escanaba on the Upper Peninsula. Read on to find out why this little diner holds such a big place in the hearts of its patrons.
Rosy’s Diner has been a stalwart of the Escanaba dining scene for many years.
For many residents, it’s the go-to for breakfast or lunch and the best hole-in-the-wall restaurant near me.
Unfortunately, as big-hearted as Rosy’s may be in service and flavor, it’s rather - let’s say “intimate” - on the interior.
On busy days, you may need to squeeze in and make some new friends or wait a bit for your breakfast. But believe me, it’s worth it!
Everything is prepared short-order style right behind the counter.
So, if you want, you can belly up in a front-row seat and watch the friendly staff assemble your scrumptious breakfast.
The scratch-made food comes in big servings - and with big, delicious flavor.
You’ll find all the comfort food classics you’d expect from a small-town diner.
We like the flaky biscuits with homemade sausage gravy.
And with the big food it serves up, such as this delicious chicken sandwich, you’ll certainly forgive - or even come to embrace - Rosy’s tiny space.
The specials are always interesting, such as the Gut Pile Skillet which comes with American fries, onions, green pepper, mushrooms, jalapeños, bacon, ham, sausage, corned beef, American cheese, and sausage gravy, topped with two eggs made your way, and a choice of toast. (What?!)
But don't forget to try the house-made cudighi sandwich which is native to Michigan's Upper Peninsula!
This Italian-American sandwich of spicy Italian sausage seasoned with sweet spices is served on fresh bread with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. What will you order at one of the most delightful hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Michigan?
