It’s no secret that Massachusetts is packed with delicious dining spots, but this one small shop in Hingham has just been named among the best places to get a sandwich in America by Travel + Leisure. Keep scrolling to see why Bloomy Rind should be on your lunch to-do list.
Though the Bloomy Rind is primarily an artisan cheese shop, they also happen to craft sandwiches that are on another level of goodness. Featuring lots of their divine aged and fresh cheeses, these sandwiches are shockingly good. Almost too good to relegate to lunch – they’re worthy of being the main course at dinner.
Inside the Bloomy Rind, you’ll find seating for about eight to ten people and a huge display filled with all sorts of wonderful treats. The staff is very helpful when it comes to picking out the sandwich of your dreams.
Standout creations include the decadent Truffle Pressed Fromage, a.k.a the fanciest grilled cheese you’ll ever have. It’s loaded with gouda, brie, and fontina cheese on grilled brioche bread that’s been generously coated with truffle butter.
You also shouldn’t miss the Butcher (artisan salami, mortadella, prosciutto, tomatoes, sliced pickles, and basil oil on a baguette) or the Texas Toast (smoke ham, aged cheddar, sliced apples, and dolce de leche on cinnamon raisin brioche).
The naan flatbreads here are also to die for, including flavors like fig jam with brie and roasted vegetables with fontina.
Their regular sandwiches cost $8.50, but you can get a petite size for just $3.75. Sounds like a good reason to get two!
If you’re craving something sweet, one bite of their rhubarb and strawberry pie will send you into nirvana. The banana foster cupcakes are also magnificent, with creamy, almost magical frosting that tastes as a real banana cream pie.
A word of caution: this place will tear your diet to shreds in the best way possible.
You can find Bloomy Rind at 21 Main Street, Hingham, Mass. Click here to visit their website for current menus. If you're still hungry, check out our list of some of the best sandwiches in Massachusetts.
