There's a long list of things we love about Maine, but high on that list is the ability to take off for a day trip to enjoy a variety of activities. Just under that might be the access to great food. Especially seafood! And leave it to Vacationland to offer the opportunity to combine every single one of these things! Hop in the car and head to Kezar Lake for a mix of great seafood and fun on the water.
Welcome to Loons Nest Restaurant at the Kezar Lake Marina in Lovell!
Kezar Lake, located in the western mountains of Maine, offers lots of beauty, as well as plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy activities.
The views are incredible. Especially from the marina deck/
But the best experience is enjoying the view from either the upper or lower decks of the Loons Nest Restaurant.
The menu here is large and offers everything from seafood to chicken and everything in between. Their most popular dish is the Blobster and it's not to be missed.
The Loons Nest nachos come with fried tortilla chips smothered in shredded cheese. They're topped with diced tomatoes, olives, peppers, onions and jalapenos and they're served with sour cream. It's not seafood, but it's a great start to your meal.
Of course seafood fritters are also a great start!
And enjoy it all with a local Maine beer.
And either before or after, be sure you've got time to get out on the lake. Being attached to Kezar Lake Marina makes that easy. You can rent kayaks, canoes or other boats right here.
And, as one of the clearest and cleanest lakes in the state, this is a great place for beginners.
So head to the mountains, get out on the lake and enjoy a great seafood meal all in one perfect Maine day trip.
Loons Nest Restaurant is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can learn more about both the restaurant and the Kezar Lake Marina by checking out the website. You can reach the restaurant on 207-925-1911 and the marina on 207-925-3000.
We love that there are a few different places to do this type of thing here. You can also grab some lunch and rent a canoe at this awesome spot in Maine!
