River Driver’s Restaurant In Maine Is Surrounded By The Most Breathtaking Fall Colors

With a whopping 365 days (give of take, of course) between every fall season, it's easy to forget just how much we love it around here this time of year. The air is crisp, pumpkins line the streets and the fall foliage is turning an array of reds, yellows and oranges. We're spending this season exploring all the ways we can see the best of this season's changing colors and this restaurant is one of our new favorites!

Welcome to River Driver's, an award-winning restaurant that will fill your belly and your soul!

Located on the banks of the Millinocket River, there are some seriously special views here.

And while they're open all year, autumn might be our favorite time to take in the sights.

The name "River Driver's" hearkens back to Maine's logging days when folks worked the river and made sure the logs traveled down waterways effectively. In essence, they "drove" the logs down the river.

But before you take in the sights outside you'll want to step inside and see what all the fuss is about.

It could be that Head Chef Chelse Cram is inspired by local flavors, sourcing ingredients from nearby whenever possible.

Or it could be the size of the portions.

Most likely it's a little bit of everything, including inventive menu items and daily specials.

Parmesan encrusted eggplant served over a bed of arugula with homemade red sauce, anyone?

The ambiance inside is inviting and it's a great place for large groups or intimate dinners.

While we love visiting this time of year to take in the lake views full of changing fall leaves...

...the fact that it's open year round does give some flexibility. And, if you're from Maine you know that not even snow can get in the way of a great meal!
