The World’s Freshest Breads Are Tucked Away Inside This Hidden Maine Bakery

There's nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread. The only thing better might be tasting it the moment it comes out of the oven, just cooled enough to not burn your mouth. In a place like Maine there a lots of spots to find fresh baked good, but our favorite thing is finding the unexpected spots. The ones that you might otherwise pass because you can't imagine that they have exactly what you want. Today's farm is that place! While their name makes you think of fruit, don't be mistaken. This is also one of the best bakeries for fresh baked bread in Maine.

Berry Fruit Farm can be found off a small street in Livermore, Maine.

Run by Joel and Melissa, this farm is truly a family affair. You'll often see their kids around the farm. While they never imagined they'd be full-time farmers, the lifestyle that Berry Fruit Farm has provided them is perfect for what they wanted to create - a sustainable farm for the community for years to come.

The name might imply that they're a summer destination, best for picking ripe berries. While they do have some of the best fruit picking in the state, they offer so much more than that.

Some might say that the best time to visit is fall.

But, really, the best time to visit is any time you're in need of warm, homemade bread.

From biscuits to full loaves of bread, they make everything by hand.

And it's available in their farm shop, open each day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

With a full crop of berries, they're also able to offer freshly made jam.

And, if you have a sweet tooth you're going to want to try one of their many cakes, including spiced apple cake with cranberries and walnuts...

...and raspberry strudel coffee cake.

Pies are also a personal favorite item made my Melissa.

And they come in a variety of flavors.

In addition to the incredible breads, jams and baked goods we love the overall vibe here. It's enthusiastic, fun and most of all familiar. This farm is truly a part of the community!
