Comfort food comes in all shapes and sizes, and seafood platters are one of them. There’s no better state to feast on towers of seafood than Louisiana, and we’ve found some of the best local restaurants where you can feast like a king on huge seafood platters. 1. Big Al’s
From charbroiled oysters to boiled crabs, Big Al’s does it all. They’ve been a seafood king since they opened their doors in 1990, and they’re worth the drive.
2. Blackie’s Seafood
When you visit Blackie’s, you’re one of the family. Huge seafood platters, all your favorite sides, and some of the most overstuffed po’boys in the land.
3. Cajun Tales
You’ll find this gem halfway between Lake Charles and Rayne off of I-10 in the tiny town of Welsh. Daily specials, homemade desserts, and of course, hearty seafood platters await!
4. Cajun Claws
Rayne may be the "Frog Capital of the World," but Cajun Claws has a lockdown on the seafood department. From crawfish to Dungeness crabs, you’re going to be in a seafood paradise when you dine at Cajun Claws.
5. R & M’s Boiling Point
It’s always those unassuming buildings off the side of the road that serve up some of the best food, and this place is no exception. Seafood is the name of the game, and they're crushing it at R & M’s.
6. Robbie G’s
Robbie G’s is a favorite for locals in the CenLA area looking to chow down on Louisiana seafood. Good luck finishing your plate here, because the portions are huge!
7. Salvo’s Seafood
Family owned and operated since 1984, Salvo’s is that perfect, come-as-you-are, no-frills local restaurant that will quickly capture your heart.
8. Scott’s Catfish & Seafood
You’ll typically find the parking lot of Scott’s full, and there’s a good reason why. The folks at Scott’s know their way around a catfish, so be sure to order a plate (or two).
9. Voleo’s Seafood
If you’re in the Lafitte area, you’ve got to swing by Voleo’s, an authentic Cajun restaurant with some of the tastiest seafood platters around. They also offer several German dishes, for a one-of-a-kind Cajun-German dining experience.
