New Roads is a tiny town of fewer than 5,000 residents over in Pointe Coupee Parish. As one of the oldest communities in the Mississippi River Valley, New Roads is full of history, beautiful architecture, and incredible restaurants. When you’re in the mood for a dining experience like no other, a trip to this charming little town is in order, and Morel’s Restaurant should be your first stop. Let’s check it out.
Located right on the False River in historic downtown New Roads, Morel’s Restaurant has been around since 1926, earning it the title of being the oldest restaurant in downtown New Roads.
The River Room is situated directly over the water, offering some truly phenomenal views of False River.
Morel’s is open for lunch and dinner, and the menu features a blend of flavors that caters to just about everyone.
From summer salads to massive burgers, you can expect both traditional southern cuisine and inspiring flavor fusions that will blow your taste buds away.
And, of course, some of the best seafood platters in Louisiana.
The dinner menu is a sophisticated blend of New Orleans favorites blended with influences that span from the West Indies to Asian flavors.
During sunset, False River turns into a dazzling color display that’s the perfect setting to enjoy a memorable meal.
