Do you find yourself downtown during lunchtime? If so, you are in luck. There are a huge number of amazing places where you can chow down without breaking the bank. Here are the seven best bets in the Warehouse District, Downtown, and the Canal St. edge of the French Quarter.
1) Welty’s Deli, 336 Camp St.
This delicious deli opened after Katrina and has been a favorite ever since. The chef has worked all over the city and includes some amazing dishes that we know will go on your must-eat list, including this incredible mirliton number.
2) Majoria’s Commerce Restaurant, 300 Camp St.
This place is one of the must-go spots on this list, and we know you will love it. Majoria's serves up incredible breakfast and lunch in an unassuming spot. You'll love the huge variety of omelettes available.
3) Thai Djing, Food Truck
Great thai food can sometimes be a little hard to find in New Orleans. The addition of this food truck, often found lurking around Tulane hospital, makes for a great choice. All of the dishes are made fresh and very delicious.
4) Felipe’s, 301 N. Peters St.
Felipe's has locations around the city--and they are all always packed. That's how you know this place is doing something right. The salsa bar alone is enough to keep you coming back here. And the queso is amazing.
5) Killer PoBoys, 219 Dauphine St.
This po-boy shop takes a modern twist on the classic po-boys, and they hit it out of the park. The grilled shrimp po-boy, pictured here, takes its pointers from the popular banh mi sandwich. And this is just one of the many popular sandwiches on their menu.
6) The Red Stove Food Truck
This is another hot food truck that you can find in around the Tulane Hospital area. They serve up great gyro sandwiches and plates...you won't be disappointed.
