Nothing tastes more southern than a sinfully delicious slice of pecan pie. When your sweet tooth strikes, there's one little place in the middle of nowhere that's worth the road trip, and that's Lea's Lunchroom. This humble little cafe has been serving up some of the best plate lunches and pies since 1928, and after one bite, you'll fall in love.
You’ll find Lea’s Lunchroom in the small town of Lecompte, Louisiana, which is just outside of Alexandria.
This culinary landmark has been feeding locals since 1928, and it’s their simple but consistent menu that’s kept Lea’s a tradition for so many in the Alexandria area for almost a century.
Their legendary ham sandwich is reason enough to pay them a visit.
This simple little sandwich has been on the menu since they opened their doors. Featuring country ham dressed with lettuce, tomato, and pickles, it’s the simplicity that makes this sandwich so tasty!
But save room for dessert, because their pies are the star of the show.
These homemade pies might just be the best in Louisiana.
They have multiple meringue flavors including chocolate, coconut, lemon, and banana.
There are also some sinfully delicious fruity pies like apple, cherry, and peach, plus they feature a rotation of seasonal pies like blueberry, blackberry, pumpkin, and sweet potato.
However, the pecan pie is the most popular pie on the menu.
Get yours with a scoop of ice cream for an extra special indulgence.
