There's nothing better than a homecooked meal, but you don't always have the time. After working all day and taking care of all other responsibilities, getting in the kitchen and making a meal from scratch can seem like more of a chore than anything else. Luckily, there's a little spot in Cajun Country that is serving some of the best homestyle meals outside of your kitchen, and it's worth a visit. Let's check it out.
Just off of I-1O in Breaux Bridge lies an unassuming building that’s hiding some big flavors.
Glenda’s Creole Kitchen may not look like much from outside, but we all know not to judge a book by its cover.
What this hidden gem lacks in size, it makes up for in big, bold flavors.
The idea for the restaurant began after Glenda’s co-workers began paying her to bring home cooked meals for lunch.
It wasn’t long before she was able to turn it into a restaurant, and with the support of the community, a successful business that’s going strong 20 years later.
Established in 2000, Glenda’s is the go-to spot for locals looking for a homestyle meal without breaking the bank.
And that’s exactly what you’ll get at Glenda’s.
The weekly menu is filled with incredible Southern, Cajun, and Creole favorites.
Depending on the day, you could be feasting on smothered pork chops, stuffed fried chicken, meatball stew, or crawfish étouffée.
And if you don't have time for a sit-down meal, no worries! Just pull through the drive-thru.
Glenda’s is open seven days a week:
Drive-Thru: 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dine-in: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For more information, be sure to give the restaurant a follow on Facebook and check out its website.
