I know Kentwood is most well-known for being the birthplace of Britney Spears, but you’ll definitely be saying gimmie more after one bite of the food from this restaurant.

Less than one mile from the Louisiana/Mississippi border on US-51 is where you’ll find Skinney’s Restaurant & Banquet Facility.

It's definitely the type of restaurant you don't just stumble into, since it's in kind of a remote area...but we promise this hidden gem restaurant in Louisiana is worth the effort.

This neighborhood eatery seems like it’s in the middle of nowhere, yet it’s easily one of the top picks for locals on the hunt for a good meal in a casual, relaxed atmosphere.

It's a no frills, all flavor type of joint. Come as you are, leave as one of the family!

Skinney’s is known for having some very generous portions, so be sure to come hungry!

The menu features a wide range of options, covering everything from hamburger steak to fried seafood platters.

They also offer daily specials that will tempt you, plus a "smaller appetites" menu which might be the best kid's menu I've ever seen. Normally, you'd only see maybe three options, and it's always some variation of a grilled cheese, chicken tenders, or a burger.... but at Skinney's, they have smaller portions of red beans and rice, ribs, BBQ chicken, plus chicken tenders, burgers, etc.

Speaking of steaks, the steaks at Skinney’s are legendary. Treat yourself to an 8-ounce filet or go big with one of the ribeyes, available in both 12 and 16 ounces.

The ribs have a fan base of their own, and they're absolutely worth it.
