This family-friendly restaurant in Louisiana has been a time-honored tradition for countless families on the Northshore. The Pizza Man of Covington has been around since 1976.

As one of the oldest pizza restaurants on the Northshore, you can bet you’re in for a delicious slice of pizza. It’s more than just a restaurant, though. It’s one of those eateries that sparks nostalgia for so many locals, myself included. I can’t tell you how many birthdays and special occasions from my life have been celebrated here.

It’s one of those restaurants that gets passed down from generation to generation. Parents who grew up coming here get to introduce their children to the Pizza Man just like their parents did for them.

Not much has changed in the restaurant’s 48 years, and that’s one of the reasons locals continue to dine at the Pizza Man.

Even if you haven’t been here in a decade, it’ll all come flooding back to you when you step through the doors.

The jukebox still remains in the corner, as it has for four decades, just waiting for hungry patrons to select a good tune.

Since I’ve been coming here since I was about five years old, I always cater to my inner child and stick with the traditional cheese pizza or a classic pepperoni, but you can go nuts with the toppings. Eggplant and yellow squash? Go for it. Shrimp and pineapple? I’m here for it.
