There are many reasons to spend a summer afternoon in the fresh air at an outdoor coffee shop. You can sip coffee while reading a book, talking to a friend, clearing out your inbox, or doing nothing at all. I love the quiet atmosphere and soft music often found at coffee shops; it’s a delightful escape. Kenwick Table is an outdoor coffee shop in Lexington, Kentucky, with a welcoming and beautiful outdoor space.
Kenwick Table is in Lexington's eclectic Kenwick neighborhood.
The shop's owner, Rett McGoodwin, was inspired to create a welcoming community space and had a large community table built to encourage patrons from different walks of life to sit and get to know one another.
McGoodwin is a long-time resident of Kenwick and bought the property, intending to renovate and sell it.
Instead, he decided to create a small business to enhance his community. McGoodwin is also a professional landscaper and owns his own company, Rett's Landscaping.

Its delicious Lincoln Lavender Latte is made with lavender syrup and honey. The restaurant also serves wine, bourbon, and craft beer.
