Often Dubbed the Best Cookies in Kentucky, Here’s Why Please and Thank You Is a Must, Even if You’re Out-Of-State

I tried the award-winning chocolate chip cookies at Please & Thank You and loved the taste and texture. The lively bakery ships their cookies across America and also sells tea, coffee, and other treats.

What's your go-to afternoon pick-me-up? When I hit an energy slump in the afternoon, I usually turn to chocolate. For better or worse, it lightens my mood and gives me just enough energy to get to dinner. One recent gloomy afternoon, I was craving a chocolate chip cookie. I'd heard about the incredible cookies at Please & Thank You in Louisville, Kentucky, and visited the Frankfort Avenue location to try one.

I walked into Please & Thank You and immediately loved the lively music. A jukebox in the corner played upbeat tunes, just loud enough to create pleasant background noise. There was a huge bar in the center of the restaurant, where employees made drinks and served treats to customers. I walked up to the counter and noticed all the treats available. Please & Thank You's menu includes My Morning Muffins, Iced Sugar Cookies, Our Favorite Brownies, 8-inch cookie cakes, and oatmeal and peanut butter cream pies. It also serves hot and cold beverages, including coffee, lattes, hot chocolate, matcha, rosemary lemonade, and black iced tea.

I happily ordered a chocolate chip cookie and added a Lemon Ginseng hot tea; it was labeled "our favorite" on the menu and sounded delicious on a cold day. I settled in a corner table near a huge window facing Frankfort Avenue. It was the perfect spot to enjoy the coffee shop atmosphere and bustling energy of Frankfort Avenue. The restaurant is a great place to catch up with a friend, work remotely, or stop in for a snack in between errands.

The chocolate chip cookie was dynamite—warm and crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I could see why Please & Thank You was named the best cookie shop in America in 2023 by USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice poll. I also loved the Lemon Ginseng tea; it was light and comforting.

I wholeheartedly recommend you stop by Please & Thank You for a cookie soon. If you're not near Louisville, they also have locations in Indianapolis, Indiana, and they ship cookies across the U.S. They also ship cookie dough; the PTY Dough Box has dough for four dozen chocolate chip cookies. Can you imagine a better gift? I'm seriously considering getting one to keep in my freezer!

Louisville has fantastic coffee shops. Heine Brothers, Moka & Co, Sunergos, and Quills are some of my favorites. I recently tried Witches Brew Coffee and enjoyed its spooky decor and fantastic latte.
