Enjoy A Farm-To-Glass Brewing Experience At This Unique Brewery In Kansas
Fields and Ivy Brewery in Lawrence, Kansas, offers a unique farm-to-table experience with locally-produced food and beer.
Have you ever heard of the farm-to-table movement? It's become a lot more popular over the last few years. Farm to table focuses on supporting local farmers by preparing foods with locally-grown ingredients whenever they are available. This means when you dine out at a farm-to-table restaurant, you're keeping all your money local, which is great for the local economy, but also means you're getting the freshest, tastiest food possible. We've got lots of great farm-to-table restaurants in Kansas (after all, we have all that farmland!), but it's not so often that you see a farm-to-table brewery. That's just what you'll find at Fields and Ivy Brewery in Lawrence.
The building that houses Fields and Ivy has had a number of roles throughout its life. It's been a lumber yard, car rental agency, and a countertop store, but now it's a massive brewery producing some of the tastiest beers in Kansas.
All of the beers are produced here, and with 20 barrels in the brew house, there's a lot of beer to be produced! To be more exact, Fields and Ivy makes 15,600 barrels of beer a year.
There's plenty of space inside to enjoy sips and eats.
The beer garden is magnificent, with lots of room to spread out. There are yard games like cornhole, and the brewery often hosts live music.
You'll find an array of appetizers, salads, pizzas, and burgers on the menu. All are produced in-house, so you can rest assured that the food is just as good as the beer.
Of course, the beer is the main draw. It's made from locally-grown grain, and the corn used to craft the beer is Silvermine, an old heirloom variety that was developed in Kansas.
This is a wonderful brewery in Kansas to stop by for some delicious locally-made food and beer.
