Welcome to an exciting spot in Wichita named Chicken N Pickle, where you can get outdoors and enjoy family games at the same time you enjoy tasty chicken.
The first store opened in Kansas City in 2016, and rotisserie chicken plus pickleball created this fusion of both sport and food.
This year, the first ever Chicken N Pickle ice skating rink opened up in Wichita, making it a great place for all sorts of ice activities.
Curling is scheduled for 7-8:30 pm. and 8:30-10 p.m. on January 5, 2020 for $30 a person. They also have leagues, so if you're ready to sweep with your friends, they are hosting 7 week sessions with 4-person teams.
Pond hockey is always a fun time, as long as you're not too rough with the puck. They have multiple time slots open from 3-5 p.m. and 9-11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on weekends. Holiday hours are open Dec 20 - Jan 5, so make sure to get your skate on.
However, by far the most popular way to use this mini ice rink is to enjoy their public skate, which is open a lot more often than curling or ice hockey. To be sure they're ready for you, there's no shame in calling ahead!
Whether you bring your own skates and gear or are brand new and need lessons, Chicken N Pickle is ready to accommodate you during most times of the day.
For more information about the ice rink, check out the local Chicken N Pickle Facebook page or the Chicken N Pickle website.
Make sure you're not surprised by a Kansas Winter (or the people who make it interesting) before you set out! Imagine how beautiful a light snow would look on this mini ice rink.
