Indiana is a state that seems to be full of surprises. Everywhere you turn, you'll find the unexpected: emerald canyons, incredible hiking trails, blissful wineries - yep. You read that right: wineries! As it turns out, there are plenty of amazing wineries in Indiana, and today we're going to take a look at one in particular. It's known as Carpenter Creek Cellars, and it's a delightful and refreshing experience at a mind-blowing winery in Indiana you won't soon forget.

This gorgeous little respite from the real world is the beloved product of not one but two lifelong dreams.

Founder Ed Courtright wanted to grow grapes. Founder Randy Rottler wanted to start a winery. And, by their powers combined, they are Carpenter Creek!

Courtright's grandfather built the old barn in 1913, passing it down through the generations.

The first grapes were planted in 2002. Little did they know, this place would take off and fly faster than anyone imagined after opening the winery officially in 2013.

These days, it's a winery, a music and event venue, and so much more.

You can stop in and buy bottles of the amazing, world-class wines that are crafted here - or you can stay a while and do a tasting (for free!) or simply enjoy a glass or two with some live music.

It makes for an awesome date, girls' day out, or even a little self-care escape.

When we say the wine here is world-class, we mean it! It's won some wonderfully delicious awards, like medals for numerous wines at the Indy International.

Just one glass will show you exactly why; it's like being transported straight to Italy using just your tastebuds...

...but when you open your eyes, you realize you're still right here, in Indiana - at home.
