And that's exactly what you get at this one-of-a-kind upscale diner with the best views in Illinois.

The Signature Room is located on the 95th floor of the building formerly known as the John Hancock Building at 875 N. Michigan Ave. in downtown Chicago.

Of course, locals all still call it the Hancock building.

The iconic skyscraper is one of the tallest in the city at 100 stories, which towers 1,128 feet above the ground. It's so tall, that its uppermost floors often get the same view as passing airplanes — an incredible bird's eye view from on top of the clouds.

And located on the 95th floor is The Signature Room, one of the most unique and highly praised fine dining experiences in Chicago.

The upscale restaurant has views that can't be beaten, with sightlines spanning miles away. Whether you're facing the skyline or the lake, your meal will be picturesque inside and out. The dining room is filled with huge, bright windows that almost make it seem like there is nothing between you and the sky.

Because of this, it's a popular place for Valentine's Day, as well as birthdays and anniversaries — though many people make a reservation to be able to cross it off their bucket list.

The food here is beyond top-notch, with The Signature Room being one of the most popular and critically acclaimed restaurants in Chicago. Diners can enjoy seafood from the raw bar, followed by mouthwatering entrees like half-roasted chicken, short ribs, miso honey-glazed salmon, and ribeye.

Bites include elevated appetizers like jumbo shrimp cocktail, pull-apart French bread, Italian sausage pizza, and a Mediterranean snack platter — as well as your choice of desserts like chocolate mousse cake or crème brûlée.

The lounge also serves its own signature beer that was brewed by suburban Crystal Lake Brewing.
