Homer’s Ice Cream in Wilmette, Illinois, has been delighting locals with its homemade ice cream and classic parlor atmosphere for over 80 years.
Fond memories of saving up our pennies and riding our bikes to get ice cream come to mind when we see the iconic Homer's building coming into view on Green Bay Road. Those who grew up in and around Wilmette, Illinois have likely heard of, and had many helpings of, Homer’s locally-made ice cream. They can probably tell you which flavor was their favorite, as well. Locals can’t get enough of this homemade ice cream, no matter the season.

Inside, the decor is akin to an old-world ice cream parlor. The owner for all these years, Gus Poulos, has been joined by his sons, Steve and Dean.
Have a quintessentially classic cone filled with mint chip ice cream, or maybe you prefer a waffle cone or a milkshake. You choose!
Make sure to be in town for some of Homer’s seasonal flavors, such as peach or pumpkin pie.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup and raspberry chocolate chip are a couple of the many choices you have for ice cream flavors year-round.
In addition to its famous ice cream, Homer’s also offers frozen yogurt, sherbet, and sorbet.
The black raspberry sorbet is a dairy-free, fat-free little scoop of heaven - or try one of the other fruitful flavors like lemon blueberry. Rainbow sherbet is always a favorite, or you could sample the other fruity sherbets. Frozen yogurt comes in chocolate or vanilla, with 98% fat-free yogurt cultures.

Though the ice cream is the star here at Homer’s, you can also find hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, and salads if you want to make a meal of it.
Homer’s opened its doors in 1935! The building may look a little different, but the tasty ice cream is still served in its original location today.
