When the weather is hot, a well-mixed tiki drink or (maybe and?) cold beer always seems to hit the spot. But when you have the option to drink them on a floating vessel with a beautifully unique view, it really takes your beverage to the next level. It used to be that if you wanted to imbibe on a floating ship you had to become a pirate, but luckily civilization has advanced and we now have a bounty of easier options. Island Party Hut in downtown Chicago is one such destination.
Located directly on the Chicago River, Island Party Hut is a great place to experience the city while kicking back with a cold drink in hand.
Thanks to the bar's location on the river, customers can enter by land or sea. Boaters are welcome to dock alongside Island Party Hut, too.
There are plenty of seating options throughout the bar, including a covered patio, the dock, a beach area, and grass seating on a lawn. On multiple days throughout the week, there is live music performed for all guests.
Guests who want the full party boat experience can actually book rentals across a number of options. This allows groups of anywhere from two to 120 people to hit the open waters while keeping the party going.
While Island Party Hut specializes in draft beer and tiki drinks like the Mai Tai, they also have delicious food options. Between chicken, shrimp, and tacos, there should be options for just about anyone.
They are open seven days a week. For up-to-date hours and menu options, be sure to check out their website, linked below.
