Shiny and new restaurants are always popping up in Idaho, but there's something about visiting a restaurant that you know has been around a long time that makes your dining experience all the more memorable. Located in Twin Falls, Maxie's is just the type of restaurant to go to when you're craving something that you KNOW will be good. Around since the 1950s, it may very well be the oldest pizzeria in Idaho, so you can bet that they know a thing or two about serving up delicious Italian food.
A Twin Falls icon since 1956, Maxie's Pizza & Pasta has been around for some time. Famous for their delicious and authentic Italian-style pizza, this Magic Valley favorite should definitely be on your radar if it isn't already!
Maxie's started out as a small mom-and-pop operation on Main Street in downtown Twin Falls. At the time, they only served a modest variety of pizzas, but it wasn't long before word of their delicious pizza started to spread. In just four years, Maxie's moved to their location on Blue Lakes Boulevard where they've been ever since.
When Maxie's first opened, they served just 12 original pizza varieties. They've developed more and more over the years, and today they serve over 400 different varieties. They also boast a wide variety of sandwiches, pasta, dessert pizzas, and more.
This hidden gem of a pizzeria is all about keeping it as fresh and authentic as possible. Maxie's famously makes their own spice mixtures and sauces. Absolutely nothing is out of a can or out of a box. It's all made directly in their kitchen.
When possible, they even purchase all of the cheese and meat that they use locally. Whether you settle on one of their homemade firestone pizza or a mouthwatering pasta dish, you know you'll be getting the best delivered directly to your table.
The age-old question of "Pizza or pasta?" is a difficult one to answer when your stomach is grumbling. Maxie's has made it easy to enjoy both with their combination dinners. The Cennetta Dinner includes an individual pizza, garlic bread, salad, and pasta of your choice. The Family Style Dinner includes salad, garlic bread, two-topping pizza, and your choice of pasta.
It's evident that Maxie's is way more than a humble pizza house. It's a treasured part of the Magic Valley community. Local families have been enjoying the oldest pizzeria in Idaho for decades, so make it your mission to stop by and try it for yourself!
