I Adore The Wood-Fired Bagels And Georgia-Inspired Pizzas At Big Bon Bodega

There are quite a few incredible restaurants in Georgia, and I count lots of them among my favorite places I've ever dined. No matter how many I visit, though, one that always manages to hold a special place in my heart is the delicious Big Bon Bodega in Savannah, GA. Located on historic oak tree-lined Bull Street, right in the heart of the historic district, you'll find this casual grab-and-go joint. Whether you're looking for a quick outdoor meal on the spacious patio or just want to get a sandwich or coffee to go, you're sure to be delighted with the menu, which is full of creative bagel sandwiches and pizza offerings you won't find anywhere else in town. Check it out:

While I usually grab my sandwiches to go, there are a few small tables inside, plus a wonderful outdoor patio.

The interior is simple, with a counter, a few grab-and-go goods, drip coffee pots, and an area to pick up to-go orders.

The food is certainly anything but simple, though. These are some of the best bagels in Georgia, and the creative toppings only add to the tastiness.

The rotating specials are always fun, giving you a different experience each time you visit.

Above is the St. Patrick's Day sandwich that was quite delectable and the perfect sweet start to a fun-filled day. The only bad thing about the special run items is that they're not around forever - I'm still mourning the loss of the peanut butter/hot chocolate/espresso combination that was available a few months ago.

There are a few trusted recipes on the menu, or you can build your own creation.

In addition to bagels, you can also get pizza or bowls at any time of day.

The pizzas are fun because they have unique toppings like falafel and truffle sauce. Each is named after one of Savannah's famous squares.

It's no wonder that when Guy Fieri visited for his hit show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, he fell in love with this place!

For more information about Big Bon Bodega, check out the Big Bon Savannah Facebook page or the Big Bon Bodega website. There's actually a second newer location near Pooler, GA, but all the photos above are from the original Savannah location.

There's no shortage of wonderful places to stay in Savannah. We love this charming Victorian on State Street - it's so adorable!
