My Meal At Miami Beach’s Very First Vegan Restaurant Was A Feast For The Senses
As far as restaurants in Miami, Florida, go, you'll be hard-pressed to find a more eclectic collection elsewhere in the state. While this may be my humble opinion, growing up in the Sunshine State, I've seen many restaurants come and go, but also so many that keep evolving, creating the most memorable culinary experiences for all who dine there. While vegan restaurants in Miami are popping up left and right, it seems there is one restaurant that has been there since the beginning, and I had the privilege of dining there on a warm summer night. Take a look at why Full Bloom Vegan is the ultimate feast for the senses.
As someone who enjoys exploring vegan cuisine, discovering Full Bloom Vegan in Miami Beach has always been on my bucket list. Not just because it was ranked as the top vegan restaurant in the country in 2021 by TripAdvisor, but because it was the first vegan restaurant in Miami Beach, established in 2015.
Entering Full Bloom Vegan feels like stepping into an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling South Beach nightlife. It’s tucked away on a back road close to Lincoln Road, which adds to the privacy as you dine.
The ambiance is serene, with soft lighting and elegant decor that exudes a sense of sophistication. But the hanging plants in every corner, plus other natural elements like wood and vibrant greenery, enhance the connection to nature that veganism often emphasizes.
The menu at Full Bloom Vegan is a testament to creativity and culinary artistry. Each dish is carefully crafted to showcase the flavors and textures of plant-based ingredients.
I started my culinary journey with the Yakiton skewers, which are made from Lion mane mushrooms. With a deliciously tangy teriyaki glaze, paired with sprinkled togarashi and pickled daikon radish, I didn’t miss meat one bit.
It was hard to choose between all of the scrumptious entrees, so I thought - what the heck, when in Rome, right? I ordered two entrees, starting with the Drunken Noodles, which I think had the leg up in comparison of the two.
This plate of wide rice noodles was doused in a dragon sauce, and then mixed with ground tempeh, green onions, Thai basil, and Bok choy. Served with chopsticks, it was delicious every single bite.
I also opted for the Shawarma Cauliflower, which was packed with flavor in every direction. The roasted cauliflower was dusted in shawarma spices, then covered in a cool tahini sauce.
Accompanied by the Mujadara (farro and caramelized onion) and Turkish salad, each aspect of this dish varied greatly from one another, but complemented each other well.
I already am thinking about my return meal here, because I did want to indulge in some of their homemade pasta selections. Like the Ravioli Della Casa, a cashew ricotta & spinach homemade ravioli, with coconut parmesan and an herbs butter sauce. YUM!
While I didn’t imbibe this evening out, I do think it’s worth mentioning that Full Bloom has an extensive wine collection that goes beyond your usual suspects. I noticed a French Bordeaux, an Italian Barbera, and even a Merlot/Cabernet blend from South Africa.
Located just a short walk from the beach, Full Bloom Vegan is not just a restaurant but a destination for those seeking a holistic dining experience. Trust me, you don’t need to be a committed vegan to enjoy this restaurant - just allow yourself to be pleasantly surprised with the journey and savor the joy of delicious cooking.
Have you ever been to Miami Beach's very first vegan restaurant? What did you have from their menu? I know I'm already itching to go back and try a few scrumptious desserts.
