The Best Deli-Style Sandwiches Can Be Found at This All-Vegan Grocer in Tampa
This all-vegan grocery in Tampa, Florida, is making waves within the plant-based community. I visited for myself and was blown away by the deli-style sandwiches.
Anyone who knows me knows that a sandwich is one of my favorite foods. Maybe it's because I grew up in Florida and was raised on Pub subs(that's Publix sub sandwiches for non-natives), but sandwiches always reign supreme in my book. So when I was given the chance to visit an all-vegan grocer in Tampa, Florida, to try their infamous deli-style sandwiches - I had to go.
While I'm not entirely plant-based by any means, I like to switch things up now and again to test my taste buds and see where the world of vegan food is headed. Besides, after reading the reviews from Black Radish Grocer in Tampa and hearing how the sandwiches are out of this world, I had to try them for myself and see what the fuss was about.

Black Radish Grocer, located in Tampa's VM Ybor neighborhood, is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with deli services available until 3 p.m. It offers a curated selection of plant-based products in a cozy environment.
While not huge by any means, walking inside, I saw various plant-based products I'd never seen before. This just reinforces why this grocer is a beloved staple for the Tampa vegan community—these curated products aren't just thrown together to sell. There is thought behind sourcing unique, specialty products and ingredients with a happy, healthy vegan lifestyle in mind.

Digging in a bit deeper, I learned the store was conceived from conversations among friends and visits to co-ops in other cities, highlighting the need for an all-vegan grocer in Tampa. They aim to provide delicious, healthful, and convenient foods in an inclusive and friendly setting.
And then...the sandwiches.
For starters, you'll find two lists of sandwiches that are around all year long: breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches. Good news for those late risers: breakfast is served all day. The breakfast offerings are vast, with options like The Breakrito with chorizo, Just Egg, hashbrowns, shredded cheese, house salsa, and sour cream. Or The Monte Cristo, featuring pressed Cuban bread with "hunny" mustard, provolone, Just Egg, and bacon, topped with powdered sugar and a side of strawberry jam. Talk about the perfect way to wake up, especially when paired with their vast selection of coffee options and milk alternatives.
The lunch menu is even more intriguing and exactly where I started. There are even deli specials, which rotate frequently and get more and more creative.

I tried two sandwiches during my visit - The Club Pub, which is a vegan take on a Publix real turkey sub (my favorite!), and an Italian sub special with salami, provolone, turkey, oil and vinegar, mayo, peppers, and fresh bread. Both sandwiches blew me away, and quite frankly, you don't have to be plant-based to enjoy these. A good sandwich is a good sandwich in my book, and Black Radish Grocer makes darn good sandwiches.

All in all, I'm already planning a trip back to Black Radish Grocer. Not only did I end up buying some fun snacks to try at home, but I was also thinking about what my next round of sandwiches to try is. Breakfast, perhaps?
You can find more information about the vegan grocery by visiting the Black Radish Grocer website. And, if you happen to live in the Tampa area, they deliver!
