The Mason Jar in Umatilla (pronounced you-ma-tilla), Florida, is a delicious local restaurant that specializes in homestyle cooking.

Located just off of 19, you’ll notice immediately upon walking up to the restaurant that it has the words “Homestyle Cooking” emblazoned on the front. Any restaurant with a claim that big likely knows what they’re doing in the kitchen.

What’s been dubbed a very family-friendly restaurant, The Mason Jar specializes in small-town eats served in huge portions.

If you venture out during the morning hours, get ready for a breakfast spectacular. There are egg sandwiches, huge flapjacks, and seasonal French toast.

But it’s the dinner options that really draw in the crowds here. Imagine down-home country cooking like Friday’s fish fry, chicken fried steak smothered in gravy, and fried pork chops with all the fixings.
