Delaware’s Very First Italian Restaurant Has Literally Been Around Forever

Mrs. Robino's Restaurant in Wilmington's Little Italy offers authentic Italian-American cuisine and has been a local favorite since 1940.

Delaware has had a large Italian population since the southern Europeans made their way into the United States. Wilmington's Little Italy hosts one of the largest Italian festivals in the world, and the Little Italy neighborhood is rich inc culture and cuisine. If you're looking for an authentic Italian-American restaurant in the heart of the neighborhood, look no further than Mrs. Robino's Restaurant.

Mrs. Robino's Italian Restaurant in Wilmington's Little Italy has been around since 1940.

It hasn't changed much over the years! The vintage rowhome is still full of old school charm.

While it's not quite as old as sliced bread, which was invented in 1928, it's still a heck of a lot older than a LOT of things.

This Wilmington landmark has been serving Sunday supper longer than we've had frisbees, velcro, nuclear power, disposable diapers, Tupperware and bikinis.

For generations, Mrs. Robino's has built a reputation based on fresh, homemade food - and to this day, you can count on quality Italian dishes when you dine here.

Classics like lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, ravioli, and chicken parmesan make up most of the menu, so you're sure to find a familiar dish.

The talented chefs create house specialties, too, based on the availability of local ingredients like crabs fresh from the bay.

On Tuesday nights, the restaurant runs a two course, $10 special. On Wine & Dine Wednesdays, all house glasses are $3. And Thursday night is their can't-miss crab night.

It really doesn't matter which day of the week you choose to have a meal at Mrs. Robino's, though, because every day they serve up delicious, memorable homestyle dishes.

Mrs. Robino's Restaurant is open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
