Devour Some Of The Best Hot Dogs In All Of Connecticut At This One-Of-A-Kind Stand
Dogtown is a nostalgic restaurant in Connecticut known for its flavorful hot dogs and retro vibe.
Dogtown is a little restaurant selling hot dogs in Connecticut with big flavor. They just opened up in late 2017, but their retro feel makes it seem like they've been around for decades. There's a very nostalgic feel to this place, and that's by design. The business started as a food truck parked all over Connecticut. The owner prides himself on combining classic southern California street food with east coast diner vibes.
The small shop doesn't look like much from the outside, but these are some of the best hot dogs in Connecticut.
They also carry burgers, tots, milkshakes, and a few other items, but, as the name suggests, the focus is definitely on the hot dogs.
Inside, the restaurant is tiny, barely bigger than its food truck predecessor!
There are a few tables outside if you'd like to eat there and enjoy the weather. It's also not far from the beach, so you can also stroll down the shore and take your (hot) dog for a walk. Dogtown actually got its start from the owner's frustration at the trend for food trucks to serve less "walkable" meals. It doesn't get much more walkable than an easy-to-hold hot dog!
Choose one of the chef's specialty dogs or design your own. There are 14 toppings to choose from.
The tots are great too! This side is often overshadowed by the classic staple French fries and we feel like it doesn't get enough credit. These tots get the perfect balance of crispy without being greasy.
You can choose whatever toppings you like for the tots and fries as well, or just get them plain.
You won't want to miss their milkshakes or ice cream floats.
If you're not in the mood for a hot dog, they also sell burgers and sandwiches as well.
