When you think of airports in the Cincinnati area, Lunken may not be the first that comes to mind. This small airport, east of downtown, is actually one of the coolest places in the city to hang out, due to its surrounding biking and walking trail, parks and playground, and especially the Sky Galley Restaurant. Located inside the main building at Lunken, you can enjoy a delicious meal with the added bonus of a view of the planes and helicopters coming and going.

Somewhat underrated, but much loved by those who often visit, Sky Galley Restaurant is a hidden gem in Cincinnati.

Located inside the historic art deco-era main building of Lunken Airport, its unique factor warrants a visit, or two, or three.

The interior is simple and quaint, as the real attraction can be found outside the windows.

They have both indoor and outdoor dining, but even in the winter, you can have an upfront view of the planes with the large windows that stretch across the restaurant.

Lunken may be a small airport compared to nearby CVG, but it is still very active and entertaining.

With a wide variety of aircraft coming and going, it provides the perfect atmosphere for a laid back lunch or dinner.

On a nice day, be sure to grab a table outside.

You may be surprised at just how close to the planes you will be. Also, take a look at their event calendar and consider visiting one to see unique aircraft from historic planes to interesting helicopters.

Aside from the built-in entertainment, the food is excellent too!
