Hammond’s Gourmet Ice Cream, now with three locations in San Diego, is an ice cream shop in a class of its own for several reasons. One taste (or 32 - more on that later!) of this incredible ice cream and you will be hooked.
The owners of Hammonds, after falling in love with a particular gourmet ice cream on a vacation in Hawaii, made it their goal to bring the best ice cream they had ever had to San Diego and serve it in a fun and unique place that would make customers feel like they were on vacation themselves.
The ice cream here does actually come from Hawaii and is handmade with 18 percent butterfat, compared to around ten percent in a lot of commercial ice creams, making it significantly more dense and creamy than much of the competition.
And now, for the flights. Hammond’s is “Home of the original ice cream flights,” what you see here is a real thing, a flight of 32 mini ice cream cones!
Whether you want a fun way to have ice cream with the kids, come with friends who want to sample different flavors, or want to challenge yourself to the ultimate ice cream flight, you can order this massive flight that includes all 32 current flavors.
You don’t have to order 32 scoops just to sample a variety of flavors. Hammonds offers flights of any size and you can choose to have your scoops in little cake cones, on a platter with sprinkles, or upside down with sugar cones. It’s all up to you.
Whenever you come, you will find a variety of 32 flavors, but they will rarely be the same ones you’ve seen before. Hammonds offers some 300 different flavors, including standard, rotating, and seasonal flavors.
Can’t (or prefer not to) do dairy? Not a problem! You can create a flight of equally exotic and delicious vegan and/or dairy-free options like Mango Lychee Sorbet, Vegan Chocolate Coconut Macadamia Nut, Lemongrass Sorbet, and the oh-so-Hawaiian POG (Passionfruit-Orange-Guava).
