This Arkansas Restaurant Is So Remote You’ve Probably Never Heard Of It
Grandma's House Cafe in Winslow offers homestyle food in a scenic setting along the Boston Mountain Scenic Route.
While you’re taking your scenic drive through the fall color in the Natural State, I’m going to recommend you take a moment to stop in at little community called Winslow. Winslow is off the beaten path, but the small restaurant you’ll find there is absolutely worth the drive — and it’s not exactly like the drive is a terrible ordeal, either.
You’ll find Winslow off of Highway 71, which is part of the Boston Mountain Scenic Route. That means to get to the cafe you’ll have to take one of the prettiest drives in Arkansas. What a shame.
The cafe is so small, it looks homey. One might even say it looks just like grandma’s house.
The food at Grandma’s House Cafe follows the theme of homestyle goodness. If your grandma makes it, there’s a good chance Grandma’s House Cafe does too.
Pie? No problem. You can eat pie to your heart’s content.
Cobbler? Well of course, darlin’, take as much as you want.
Their savory buffet is every bit as good as the desserts: fried chicken, pork chops, chicken and dressing, mac and cheese, fried okra... the list goes on and on.
Part of the appeal of Grandma’s House is the setting. It’s absolutely gorgeous up in Winslow, and you can enjoy that scenic beauty from their deck.
While you’re out exploring the scenic byways of the Natural State, stop in and grab a bite to eat at Grandma’s House Cafe. Their address is 21588 US-71 in Winslow. They’re open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
