No matter where you are in Arizona, great Mexican food is never far away. If the area in question is Tucson's Barrio Hollywood, there's only one place to go: Tanias "33." A local favorite for decades, this charming neighborhood serves up some of the best Sonora-style cuisine in the Old Pueblo.
For over 30 years, Tanias "33" has proudly served the historic West Side community of Tucson.
The restaurant may look unassuming on the outside, but locals know great food is often hiding where you'd least expect to find it.
The welcoming, low-key ambiance feels like you've stepped right into a family kitchen.
Only reinforcing that sentiment are the delicious smells emanating from behind the counter. You'll be salivating as soon as you walk in the door!
Upon glancing at the menu, you'll be overwhelmed in the best way possible.
From all-day breakfast to mouthwatering combo plates, there's something to please every palate.
Craving burritos? You've come to the right place.
Tanias makes some of the biggest in town, filled to the brim with all your favorite meats, veggies, and smothered in sauce. You can even make it enchilada or chimichanga style! The handmade flour tortillas, fresh off the comal each morning, add an extra layer of authenticity that makes every bite better than the last.
Other entrees include menudo and other soups, taco salad, and various plates (breakfast and lunch/dinner.)
Plenty of meatless options are available, including vegetarian meats that can be substituted in any dish.
Don't leave without picking up some tamales—or, as Tanias calls them, "Mexican energy bars"—for the road!
Hours are 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday. Visit the restaurant's website or Facebook page to learn more.
