This Magical Hike Through The Woods In Florida Will Lead You To Your Very Own Labyrinth

What many Floridians don’t know is that there are over 130 labyrinths in Florida alone, all with their own story. Labyrinths are designed as meditative paths for visitors to walk along in a circuitous route, and then back out again. These paths are intended to be mindful for those who walk, and allow for quiet reflection in nature. While Florida has quite a few labyrinths worth checking out, this one might just be the neatest of all.

Many labyrinths have spiritual ties and can be found behind churches or within the courtyard of a temple.

However, not all labyrinths have to do with religion—in fact, they have been used for centuries as an ancient symbol relating to wholeness.

And despite this particular labyrinth being located at Sholom Park in Ocala, all are welcome to walk through nature in this labyrinth experience.

Guests should remember, there is no correct way to walk the labyrinth—but there are many ways for your personal reflective process.

Sholom Park has different plaques throughout the property guiding visitors along on their meditative walk for those who prefer a more prompted experience.

The purpose of Sholom Park is simple—to welcome people who are in search of peace.

The park itself is a non-profit, privately owned 44-acre botanical garden in Ocala, Florida, opened to the public in 2004.

Sholom Park features over 2 miles of paved trails to walk and over 100 different species of plants and trees.

You can take your time throughout the walk and reflect in your own way, or stop at each plaque and meditate slowly on each prompt.

One thing is for sure, this wonderful labyrinth park should be experienced by all, especially those who wish to find peace within their own personal journey.
