The Tallest, Most Impressive Bridge In Wyoming Can Be Found Just Outside The Town Of Cody

The Cowboy State isn't known for its towering bridges - you won't find a span the size of the Verrazano out here, or a crossing with the history of the Brooklyn Bridge. Wyoming 296, or the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway, is a twisting mountain road that comes down from the Beartooth Highway into the town of Cody.

The byway winds through some of Wyoming's most remote landscapes, showcasing ranches and properties that truly encapsulate Cowboy State living.

Sunlight Creek Bridge is one of over 3,100 bridges in Wyoming, but is definitely one of a kind!

You can pull over into a parking lot and walk across the bridge. Look down into Sunlight Canyon and you'll see that the bridge towers more than 1,000 feet above the creek!

After you spend some time gazing into the abyss, hop back in the car and continue for the rest of the 46-mile journey along the byway.

You'll reach the top of Dead Indian Pass, where you'll find another incredible view that spans for miles.

As your journey along the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway ends, you'll find yourself in the charming town of Cody, where you can rest for a bit and reflect on the beauty of the Cowboy State.
