These 8 Haunted Cemeteries In Wyoming Are Not For the Faint of Heart
Wyoming's cemeteries are filled with paranormal activity, making them intriguing spots for ghost hunters.
Wyoming is a fairly young state, but our history dates back for generations before we officially joined the union. Millions of people lived and died here, making their home out on the great frontier. From the earliest Native Americans to pioneers looking for a new place to hang their hats, there are plenty of spirits still hanging around the Cowboy State.
And hey, if you're going to be a ghost, why not haunt a cemetery? Seems appropriate, right?
I'm not the only one who thinks that way... these creepy, haunted cemeteries in Wyoming are wild with paranormal activity.
1. Gebo
You'll find gravesites scattered throughout the ghost town of Gebo. Many of these graves are the final resting place of young children, and their wails and cries can often be heard throughout the night. .. which seems to make the moniker "Ghost Town" a bit too literal.
2. Sacajawea Cemetery
Sacajawea was a brave Native American woman who assisted Lewis and Clark on their westward expedition. Her final resting spot is gorgeously decorated and maintained year round on the Wind River Reservation, and many visitors have seen and felt her spirit nearby.
3. Mount Pisgah Cemetery
Visitors to this pioneer era graveyard have reported many spirit sightings. The two most common ghosts spotted here are a sunset jogger, and a faceless bride.
4. Bellevue Memorial Cemetery
The strange "Witches Circle" is just one of the mysteries of Bellevue Memorial Park, which was built as a private cemetery decades ago. This circle of columns was closed to visitors for decades, and is considered one of the eeries places in the Cowboy State.
5. Greenhill Cemetery
The eerie ghost of Greenhill Cemetery in Laramie is said to be a man dressed in black. Those who have encountered him all sense dread and darkness coming from him - he's no Casper the Friendly Ghost.
6. Lakeview Cemetery
The spirit of Cheyenne's Lakeview Cemetery seems to have it out for man's best friend. Near the far gate, several dogs have been attacked by an unknown presence. Those involved have refused to say whether it was a dog or a human spirit, but either way, canines are in for a ruff time here.
7. F.E. Warren Air Force Base Cemetery
The beautiful spirit that haunts the Warren cemetery has been hanging around the area since the 1800s. Dozens of eyewitnesses have seen her, dressed in black ad hanging out in the old graveyard near where the officers stay.
8. Monument Hill Cemetery
Thermopolis is a steamy town, so you might be relieved when you walk through the chilling spirits at Monument Hill. Either that, or you'll work up a real sweat running away from the place. This graveyard is gorgeous in the daytime, but I would avoid it after dark.
