You'll find Wisconsin's Gravity Hill on an empty and remote hill near Shullsburg. With a population of just 1,200, Shullsburg is one of the smallest towns in the state. It's also one of the oldest; it was founded by lead miners in the 1820s, long before Wisconsin was even a state.

From its earliest days, there was something a little mystical happening near this town, out on County Highway U. Supposedly, this is a place where the laws of gravity don’t apply.

You know you’re in the right spot when you see “GH” spray painted in the middle of the road. Here’s where things get decidedly weird.

Put your car in neutral, hang onto the wheel and hold on to your hat. Your car will start rolling up hill! Before you know it, you’ll be traveling pretty quickly so keep a foot on the brake.
