Baraboo, with a population of about 12,398, is a historic city on the Baraboo River in Sauk County.

As early as 1665, it was a Kickapoo Village. The modern community was founded in 1838 when early settlers built homes around a sawmill.

Today, it’s the county seat of Sauk County, and it has a vibrant downtown that’s home to art galleries, shops, and restaurants.

Baraboo became famous as a circus town and there are still a lot of fun events in Baraboo throughout the year.

But one of the best events happens each spring.

The event is anchored by a huge arts and crafts fair celebrating spring in Wisconsin.
