A Trip On This Scenic Train Ride In West Virginia Will Make Your Summer Complete

There's a hidden treasure in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The Locust Heights & Western Railroad has dedicated volunteers who give their time and efforts to provide the people of West Virginia a chance to ride on a replica historic train.

This little railroad in Clarksburg will give you a taste of the past.

Each Wednesday evening in the summer and fall, the train rides are open to the public.

The engine is a replica of a Class A vertical boilered Cimax steam locomotive from the 1800s.

The railroad has a regular crew and volunteers who keep everything running.

It's a dirty job, but they find it worthwhile.

The ride is free to the public, but the railroad accepts donations.

It's a great trip for families to enjoy together.

After your ride, the railroad sometimes serves homemade ice cream! The ice cream is also offered for free, with accepted donations.

It's obvious that a lot of love goes into this project. I know I want to take a trip!

The address is 115 Locust Heights Dr, Clarksburg, West Virginia 26301.
