These Fireworks Displays In Washington Will Drop Your Jaw
The Fourth Of July is coming up quick, and there's no better way to celebrate than heading out to see fireworks absolutely for free. We have public displays going on all over Washington this season, and they're always way more impressive to see in person rather than on TV. Here are some of the spectacular events going on around our state this year to commemorate the holiday.
1. Seafair Summer Fourth, Seattle
Our city's biggest display will be going on at Gas Works Park in Fremont. The fireworks will be lighting up the sky over Lake Union on July 4, around 10:20pm. Read more info here.
2. Independence Day at Fort Vancouver (Vancouver)
Vancouver's huge celebration will be held at the historic site of Fort Vancouver. It'll be going on this year July 4th, starting around 10:05pm. Check out more details here.
3. Chelan Rockin' Fireworks Show
Chelan will be putting on their vibrant 4th of July fireworks display from 10:00pm to about 10:45pm. You can catch some of the best views from Morse Park, and Lakeside Park. Read more details here.
4. River of Fire Festival, Kennewick
The River of Fire Festival is a must-see in the Tri-Cities, at Columbia Park in Kennewick. Their bright, colorful display is scheduled to kick off on July 4 around 10:00pm. Read more details here.
5. Festival of America, Grand Coulee Dam
Every year, Festival of America is held for two days at the lower park just below the dam's visitor center. For 2016, it's planned for July 3 and July 4 - and on the evening of the 4th, after their nightly laser light show - there will be plenty of picture-worthy fireworks right above the dam. 6. Tacoma Freedom Fair
Tacoma will be hosting their dreamy fireworks display over the water at the Ruston Way Waterfront. The event is planned to kick off on July 4, around 10:10pm. Read more details here.
7. Arnold Jackson Memorial Fireworks Display, Bainbridge Island
Bainbridge's celebration will be held on July 4th at dusk, over the beautiful Eagle Harbor. There are actually a few locations where you can enjoy a great view - including Waterfront Park and the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal. You can also see the display from Pritchard Park, but you'll want to show up early because there's not much parking available. Read more info here.
8. Fourth On The Plateau, Sammamish
Fourth On The Plateau will be kicking off around 6pm at Sammamish Commons Park, with fireworks later on at 10pm. The event features both upper and lower seating and attractions in addition to the fireworks, including live music, a number of booths to check out, and a playground for the little ones. 9. 4th of July In The Park, Walla Walla
Walla Walla's celebration will be held at the beautiful Pioneer Park this 4th of July. Their fireworks are scheduled to kick off around 10:15pm. Check out more info here.
10. Fireworks Display at Moses Lake
Moses Lake will be launching off their fireworks by the water, just across from McCosh Park. The stunning display is set to kick off on the 2nd around 10:15pm. There will also be a free concert and food truck rodeo in the evening prior to the fireworks being lit.
11. Capital Lakefair, Olympia
Our state's capital will be lighting off fireworks over Capital Lake a little bit later this year, during the 3rd week of July. Well worth the wait, the fair actually runs from July 13-17, with fireworks planned for the evening of the 17th around 10pm. Read more info here.
12. Fourth Of July Celebration, Spokane
Spokane will be holding another awe-inspiring display at Riverfront Park this year. Their fireworks will be launching off on the 4th around dusk. Check out more details here.
13. 3rd of July Celebration, Poulsbo
Our state's "Little Norway" will be holding their striking display over the beautiful Liberty Bay on July 3 at 10:15pm. You can sit back and enjoy the views from Anderson Parkway and Waterfront Park. Read more info here.
