If You Only Attend One Festival In Vermont This Winter, Make It The Stowe Winter Carnival
Stowe, Vermont hosts a unique winter carnival called "Stow-Zen in Time" featuring ice sculptures, sports competitions, and festive activities.
Just because the winter holidays are over, doesn't mean the festivities have to end! It's well-known that Vermont is the kind of state that embraces its winter with all types of winter sports. But many towns choose to take it a step further and put on their own winter festivals. If you can only attend one winter festival this year, we recommend making the trip to Stowe for their unique winter carnival.
Every year, the village of Stowe throws a winter carnival and this year the theme is, "Stow-Zen in Time."
Opening night kicks off on Thursday with an Amateur Ice Class and Competition at The Alchemist Brewery from 5 pm - 7 pm.
Following the Amateur Ice Class and Competition, attendees are invited to spend the evening watching retro winter sports films at the Vermont Ski and Snowboard Museum.
On Friday from 9 am - 6 pm, you can watch Professional Ice Carvers turn their blocks of ice into works of art.
As you walk along Main Street in the evening, you'll be able to marvel at the completed ice sculptures.
Restaurants along Main Street will also be offering food and drink specials in celebration of the winter carnival.
For those who enjoy some sports competition, there's an Ice Golf tournament held on the last day of the winter carnival, Sunday.
There's also a Snow Volleyball tournament held on Sunday.
To see amazing ice sculptures, partake in friendly competitions, and enjoy other festivities, head to Stowe for the annual Snow Carnival, "Stow-Zen in Time."
