The Very First Brewery In Utah Is A True Classic

Fisher Brewery, originally founded in 1884 and revived in 2017, offers a unique beer experience in Salt Lake City with a variety of brews and food trucks.

Utah's craft brewery scene was slow to get its start, but now beer-lovers in the Beehive State have plenty of places to choose from. One of our favorites is a little brewery that was originally founded way back in 1884. You'll love the story behind this place:

The original Fisher Brewery was founded by a German immigrant named Albert Fisher back in 1884.

Though you might think that a brewery wouldn't do well in Utah's early days, it succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. After several larger breweries folded Fisher into their companies, it eventually closed its door in the 1960s.,

Albert's great-great grandson, Tom Fisher Riemondy, re-opened the brewery in 2017.

Tom and his three business partners were determined to bring back the old classic brewery, combining some of the old techniques with the latest brewing technology.

The brewery is located in a building that once served as an auto-body shop.

The renovated space has plenty of character, and lots of seating.

In this large, open area, you'll have a front row to the brewing process.

Fisher Brewery says its beer is still "Sparkle Brewed to the Altitude!"

Fisher Brewery doesn't serve food, but you'll find different food trucks parked in front every day.

From pizza to Peruvian food, there's always something tasty to try. Take your food right into the brewery to enjoy it with your beer. Click here to see the food truck schedule.

You'll find 12 different beers on tap to choose from.

If you can't decide, try some samples for just $1 each.

Once you've decided on a favorite, you can get a glass of beer to enjoy at the brewery...

...or get a 32-ounce crowler to take home. They'll put your beer in the can straight from the tap while you watch. Every crowler is labeled with the variety and date it was canned.

If you feel like stocking up, get a growler.

Once you visit this little employee-owned brewery, you're certain to fall head-over-heels. Make sure to take home some swag to proclaim your love to the world. There's a pretty large selection of t-shirts, hats, glassware, and more.

Fisher Brewery is open Sunday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m,; Thursday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m..; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
