If you've lived in Utah very long, you probably think you've seen everything there is to see and done everything there is to do. It's my job to dig up unique things to do in Utah, and I've written about several you might have never tried. Here are 11 of the best things to do in Utah that might surprise you!

1. Stroll along a sand dune.

2. Visit a secret speakeasy.

It only makes sense that you'd find a secret hideaway for liquor in Utah. Our state is full of speakeasies, in fact, which make for fun nights out!

3. Drive for 107 miles without seeing a single strip mall.

Take the drive from Salina to Green River along I-70, and you won't find so much as a single gas station. What you will find are some seriously stunning views. This Utah road trip is one of our favorites!

4. Take a ghost tour.

Whether you believe in ghosts or not, Grimm Ghost Tours will take you on the tour of a lifetime. You'll get to play with their cool gadgets, and tour some spooky, historic buildings.

5. Stop at this roadside attraction for an unexpected surprise.

6. Go surfing.

You don't need an ocean to learn to surf in Utah - just head to Flowrider in Ogden. At this awesome attraction, they'll give you a lesson and let you hang 10 for an hour. Surf's up, dude!

7. Learn to cook like a pro.

Spend an evening at the Salt Lake Culinary Center, where they'll teach you to cook something delicious and then let you eat it.

8. Watch wild horses running free.

9. Hop on a bobsled and race down the track at 65 mph.

Just like the Olympians, you can ride a bobsled at the Utah Olympic Park. OK... maybe not exactly like an Olympian... but you can give it your best shot.

10. Make music at an outdoor park in Moab.

The Moab Rotary Park has tons of percussion instruments, and its accessible to everyone. Experiment with these fun outdoor instruments and make some sweet music.

11. Go on a space mission.

If you've ever wanted to take a trip to outer space, this might be your best bet. The Telos Discovery Space Center in Orem, Utah, has two simulated space ships and a special mission just for you and your friends.
