Train rides are one of the most peaceful ways to enjoy our state's scenery, especially during springtime when wildflowers are in full bloom. Climb aboard the Texas State Railroad and join us as we marvel at the spectacular show Mother Nature puts on this time of year. You might even run into the Easter Bunny!

Being whisked away by train into the East Texas Piney Woods is always a magical experience, but even more so during springtime. Riding the rails through fields of eye-popping blooms makes for an adventure the whole family will always remember.

The 50-mile journey crosses 24 bridges and a locomotive turntable, taking riders back to the beginning of railroad history. It's easy to lose track of time on the four-hour trip - especially when views like these dominate every inch of the route.

In addition to sunflowers, the tracks are lined with beautiful dogwood trees through early April. Their peaceful white blooms dance right outside your window, welcoming springtime in the most whimsical way possible.

And let's not forget about bluebonnets! Our state flower abounds everywhere you look, serving as a constant reminder to riders of what state they're in.

Somebunny told us a very special guest will make an appearance at the end of the journey. Upon getting off at the Palestine Depot, kids of all ages can participate in an egg hunt, listen to music, and take pictures with the Easter icon himself.

With wildflowers blooming and a gentle breeze blowing through the air, there's no better way to spend a springtime afternoon. Little ones will have an absolute blast seeing who can fill their basket first!
