Texas is full of awesome aquariums, but only one has a water slide flowing straight through it. Aquatica, in San Antonio, features an unforgettable tubing experience that takes riders beneath an underground habitat of stingrays and other tropical fish. It's the perfect summer family adventure, and you'll want to come back again and again. Grab some sunscreen and gas up the car, because today we are taking a closer look at this incredible aquarium water slide in Texas.
Owned by SeaWorld, Aquatica has the unique ability to merge ocean life with water attractions. The park features over a dozen rides that all somehow tie into the undersea creature theme.
Many different aquatic animals swim beneath the very water you'll be floating in. One ride in particular offers up-close-and-personal interaction with these majestic beings: Stingray Falls.
First up, a traditional tubing ride down a waterslide. The slide goes over the stingray tank, before going through it. It's a fun but modest ride, suitable for guests over 42 inches tall. Your raft seats two, so you can enjoy the ride with a friend!
Next up is the chill: a leisurely float beneath the tranquil sound of water droplets softly cascading into the river below. Sit back and enjoy the ride as a gentle current pushes you along.
Last comes the thrill, where you'll take several twists and turns before finally plunging into an underground grotto. Prepare to come face-to-face with stingrays and other tropical fish, as they eagerly press their faces against the glass to get a closer look at you.
Stingray Falls is the only attraction of its kind on earth, so make sure to revel in every moment. Please note: Riders must be at least 36 inches tall.
Among many other attractions are a wave pool, lazy river, and the tallest drop slide in Texas. There's something to keep the fun going all day long for every member of the family.
Adventure awaits you at 10500 Sea World Drive, San Antonio, TX 78251.
