This Native American Pow Wow In South Carolina Is Perfect For The Adventurous Soul
The 26th Annual Waccamaw Indian Pow Wow in South Carolina celebrates Native American culture with tribal dances and arts and crafts.
Throughout the year, there are many events in the Palmetto State that bring communities together, and many highlight the culture found in their community. But few celebrate Native American culture like this little-known pow wow, now in its 26th year in the Palmetto State.
A bona fide Native American Pow Wow (also spelled PauWau) is a social gathering that includes a tribal dance.
And in the case of the upcoming Waccamaw Indian Pow Wow in Aynor, it's also a two-day festival featuring a family-oriented atmosphere with vendors, demonstrations — and dance ceremonies.
On November 3rd and 4th, 2018, the Waccamaw Tribal Indian Grounds will transform into a cultural event of the season.
Step into the world of Native American culture for a two-day celebration.
Native American vendors will be on hand with arts and crafts booths.
And some will even give live demos as they work on their crafts at the event.
Each day, you'll have the opportunity to gather around the big ceremonial circle and watch a real, live Pow Wow.
Witness the fun as the members of this small indian tribe (who gained official recognition by the State of South Carolina in 2005) celebrate the traditional dances of their culture.
Have you ever been to a Pow Wow? We'd love to know.
