Sacred Labyrinth is a bucket list-worthy hidden gem in New Shoreham, Rhode Island.
A ferry ride to Block Island holds so much promise – the opportunity to soak in the scenery, something of which we can never tire, and the golden sunshine on our faces.
Block Island attracts thousands of Rhode Islanders and visitors, especially during the summertime, for its sandy beaches and stunning natural wonders like Mohegan Bluffs. Sacred Labyrinth, a hidden gem in Rhode Island, is also worth a stop.
Set your GPS for Corn Neck Road, nestled near North Light. A stone wall runs alongside the road, and hidden near that wall are wooden stairs with “Labyrinth” written on them. Follow the red arrow.
If you’ve never been to Sacred Labyrinth, just be prepared as it can be somewhat hard to find.
What you’ll discover is a stone-lined circular walkway, the Sacred Labyrinth. Follow the labyrinth to its center.
A bench sits in the middle of the labyrinth, welcoming visitors to sit down, reflect, and drink in the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Feel the stress melt away as you gaze out over Sachem Pond and the ocean in the distance.
Look for the crabapple tree, too. Underneath you’ll see a wooden box. Open it.
Inside you’ll find notebooks filled with the thoughts and feelings of those who visited this tranquil spot before you. Pour over them, or just glance at them, then pick one up, and write how you’re feeling – if you want.
