If you are looking for something off the beaten path, consider one of these 10 things to do this weekend. Whether you want a little exercise or to treat yourself, there is something for everyone on this list of activities that will liven up your weekend in Portland.

1. Warrior Rock Lighthouse

If you haven't taken this amazing beachfront hike to Sauvie Island's Warrior Rock Lighthouse, you are going to want to amend that soon. This 6-mile hike is stunningly gorgeous on a clear day and takes you to the smallest lighthouse in Oregon.

2. Salt Cave

Taking care of your body can never be too overstated. Visit Zama Massage's salt cave and take advantage of the negatively charged ion environment, thought to reduce inflammation. This may be just what you need for a mid-winter reset.

3. Audubon Society

Getting out into nature is a must, and the Audubon Society is the perfect place to do it. With short and sweet trails filled with flora and fauna, along with the ability to view several rescued birds, the experience can't be beat.

4. Oaks Park Roller Skating

Portland is home to the oldest roller skating rink in the country. Oaks Park not only has wonderfully smooth floors for all your skating pleasure, but also features an epic organist whose playing makes your skate session all the more memorable.

5. Lovejoy Fountain

Right in the middle of downtown lies this hidden-from-street-view fountain, Lovejoy Fountain. Take the pedestrian bridge to reach this little oasis hiding in plain site.

6. Freakybuttrue Peculiarium

If you are looking for something to do indoors on a rainy afternoon, head over to the Peculiarium for a strangely good time. This small museum, exploring all things odd, is always fun for a visit.

7. Leach Botanical Garden

In East Portland, the Leach Botanical Garden is waiting to be explored. A Children's Garden, numerous short, but impeccably labeled winding trails, and some very quick-growing bamboo make this an attraction to visit in every season.

8. Portland Aerial Tram

For the best views of the city, skip the long hike and take a ride on the Portland Aerial Tram. Connecting the South Waterfront and OHSU, this quick ride is breathtaking and you can stop at the hospital for coffee before taking the ride back down.

9. McMenamins Soaking Tub

McMenamins offers a lot at its many locations, but nothing is quite as relaxing as its Kennedy School Soaking Tub. Visit this pool to take some time off your feet and stay for a beer when you are done.

10. The Grotto

The Grotto is a little garden oasis tucked in right off of 82nd Avenue and Sandy. If you haven't explored the grounds, take the trip to this sanctuary for a bit of meditation and relaxation.
