Explore The Most Magical Winter Lights Display In Pennsylvania, Glowland, This Season

Christmastime in Pennsylvania shines – literally – with countless Christmas light displays across the state promising a fun and family-friendly way to get into the holiday spirit. Fitting all of the holiday fun into our schedules often means prioritizing what we really want to experience, including this magical winter lights display in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The family-friendly event runs for more than a month, so you have plenty of time to squeeze in a visit.

Celebrating its second year in 2023, Glowland transforms two square miles of the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Oakland into a magical display of colorful lights, music, art, and family-friendly fun.

Presented by the Oakland Business Improvement District, the early winter festival will run from Nov. 20, 2023, through Jan. 2, 2024.

Perhaps the highlight of this unique event, billed as “Pittsburgh’s premier winter lighting festival,” EXPosure will feature massive vinyl spheres. When you stand in front of the spheres, your image will be projected off of it, creating “motion-based art.”

EXPosure, a free event, will be held at Schenley Plaza.

The unique winter light festival in Pittsburgh will feature a variety of events, throughout the season, including historical walking tours, Drone Show & Musical Fest, and Winter Play Day.

Set for Dec. 9 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., Winter Play Day is a jam-packed day of fun activities, many of them free. Live music, storytime, a glow-in-the-dark puppet show, and a glow parade are among the events planned for the day.
