Get A Bird’s Eye View When You Climb The 75-Foot-Tall Oregon White Oak At Tree Climbing Planet
Tree Climbing Planet offers adults the opportunity to safely climb trees and reconnect with nature through various courses.
When was the last time you climbed a tree? You probably climbed them all the time in your youth, but tree climbing tends to be a childhood pursuit that quickly fades away as we grow up. The folks at Tree Climbing Planet want to change that, and they're teaching adults how to safely climb trees and appreciate nature. Take a look:
Tree Climbing Planet has several locations in the United States and Brazil, but its main location is Oregon City.
The organization got its start in 2010, but the owner Tim Kovar has been a tree climbing instructor for more than 25 years.
If you remember climbing trees as a kid, you know how exhilarating it is to be nestled in the branches, high above the ground. You can reclaim that wonderful feeling when you take a tree climbing course.
The courses offered at Tree Climbing Planet use all the latest safety gear to ensure that you won't fall from the branches. You'll get instruction on tree climbing techniques, including knot-tying, rope placement, and tree inspection.
The Oregon City location is situated on 150 acres of farmland, and it offers tons of mature oak trees, which are perfect for novice climbers.
The main climbing tree is called "Pagoda," and it's a 75-foot-tall white oak tree. The tree boasts lots of big, stout branches, which make climbing much easier for beginners.
Tree Climbing Planet offers several different courses, depending on your skill level. You might want to start with the one-day intro course or basic tree climbing course, both of which are catered specifically to beginners.
More advanced climbers can take the Beyond the Branches course, or the Advanced Basic course. Custom courses are also available.
The emphasis on the beginning courses is safety, and you'll have plenty of practice with the equipment and knot-tying so that you'll feel safe and confident as you scale these magnificent oak trees and gain a bird's eye view of the forested farmland below.
