Whether you believe in ghosts or not, ghost stories are fascinating bits of lore. It's fun to visit places that are supposedly haunted to hear the tales and keep an eye out in the hopes (or fears?) of seeing something otherworldly. There's a movie theater in Lebanon that's said to be haunted by a young girl, and if you visit, you might see more than just a movie.
The Kuhn Cinema opened its doors in 1932 in the town of Lebanon. There were once many theaters in the area, but the Kuhn managed to last throughout the years.
In recent years, the community came together to save the theater from demolition, and it's undergone several small renovations, including this fairly new marquee.
While much of the theater has changed over the course of its decades, one thing has stayed the same for quite some time: the ghostly presence that has been felt there for years has never left.
Both employees and visitors to the theater claim to have seen a little girl in a white dress in different spots throughout the building. She's been seen sitting in the theater's seats, sitting at the top of the stairs near the projection booth, and in the women's bathroom.
The story is that she fell to her death from the theater's balcony...but this building has never had a balcony, so it's hard to say how she got here, if indeed she is haunting the place.
Her presence is often felt inside the projection room, and theater employees report that they've felt a small child hugging them while they're working in the little booth.
Lights turn on and off by themselves, and at night while closing up, employees hear footsteps, a young child giggling, and odd thumps that can't be explained.
One employee reports that, during her time there, she would often place the keys down on the counter in the lobby at night while cleaning up, and they would disappear, only to be found in a totally different location.
The young girl doesn't seem to be evil, but does pull pranks on the employees. In addition to moving keys, it's said that she can open the safe, open or close doors, and move other items from one part of the theater to another.
Have you visited the Kuhn Cinema? Have you ever seen anything out of the ordinary there?
